“Doc Ted” is a cardiologist, who has significant experience to exercise, exercise physiology, sports medicine and rehabilitation. He has been practicing preventive cardiology in Chicago for a long time. He developed among the first Cardiac Rehabilitation programs first at Illinois Masonic Hospital and then at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Both are still in effect today. He has helped bring smoke free indoor environments to Chicago and the Northern suburbs. He also was a leader in bringing Cardiac Resuscitation to the Chicago area.

Perhaps more importantly, Doc Ted was the Medical Director of the Chicago Marathon from the days that it was the “Mayor Daley Marathon” up to the middle of the first decade of this century. He is now largely retired, but continues to teach medical students at the Feinberg (Northwestern) School of Medicine.
